On the peaks of the Mediterranean: here are the spectacular Cable Cars of Sicily

Sicily, a sun-kissed land surrounded by a splendid sea, is famous for the extraordinary beauty of its landscapes. The island is also home to some of the most spectacular climbs in the Mediterranean, as recognized by the well-known information portal TgCom24 In its travel section.
In selecting The Ten Most Beautiful and Striking Ascents in the Mediterranean, TgCom24 highlighted not only cable cars and chairlifts nestled among majestic mountain peaks, but also some that wind between the deep blue sea and lush green mountains. Notable in the top ten are two lifts from Sicily, the Mazzarò-Taormina Cable Car and the Cable Car Trapani-Erice, enchanting visitors with breathtaking views and unforgettable journeys.
Cableway Mazzarò-Taormina

The Mazzarò-Taormina Cable Car is a true marriage of sky and sea. With two sets of four cabins hooked together, it rises majestically along a 170.5-meter drop with a linear development of 725 meters. The lift connects the center of Taormina with the Ionian coast and its enchanting beaches near Mazzarò, just across the bay of the same name. This splendid cable car can carry about 680 people per hour, with a cabin leaving every 15 minutes. It is undoubtedly the most convenient and original way to reach the wonderful beaches in the area, granting adventurous travelers a unique panoramic experience along the way.
Trapani-Erice Cableway

The Trapani-Erice Cable Car, on the other hand, offers enchanting views of the city of Trapani and the magnificent Egadi Islands. With a trip of only eleven minutes, this lift transports passengers across a 663-meter drop, for a total length of just over three thousand meters. An authentic "flight" between the crystal clear sea and the green peaks of Mount Erice, allowing visitors to enjoy a spectacular panorama that leaves one breathless. Despite the brevity of the trip, the experience is so intense and unforgettable that the cable car operates until 1 a.m., allowing tourists to admire the striking views both during the day and at night.
Both of these extraordinary lifts not only offer a practical and fast way to reach some of Sicily's most sought-after destinations, but they represent a perfect marriage of nature and human ingenuity, offering visitors an exciting way to discover and appreciate the island's wonders from unique perspectives.
