Gambero Rosso rewards with the "3 Glasses" the best Wines of Sicily

Sicily, with its rich oenological history, continues to earn a place of honour on the Italian and international wine scene. This claim was recently confirmed by the prestigious Guide Wines of Italy 2024 of Gambero Rossowhich revealed the winners of the coveted 'Tre Bicchieri', confirming the extraordinary oenological richness of Sicily, capable of producing high quality wines from indigenous grapes, including Catarratto, Grillo, Nero d'Avola, Frappato and Nerello Mascalese. In the list drawn up by the experts, no less than 27 Sicilian labels received the top award:

The real surprise this year was the clear success of the whites, which received 15 of the 27 Tre Bicchieri, surpassing the 11 prizes awarded to the reds. In addition, almost two thirds of the prizes were awarded to wines from vineyards on the slopes of theEtnaEurope's largest volcano, which offers a unique and extraordinary terroir for growing vines with a mineral-rich soil that gives the wines a unique complexity and minerality that make them irresistible to wine enthusiasts the world over.
The Gambero Rosso recognised Sicily's extraordinary contribution to the Italian and international wine scene, celebrating not only the quality of Sicilian wines, but also the island's exceptional oenological diversity, with a growing interest in white wines and the ascendancy of the Etna region.
