Facebook Patron Mark Zuckerberg lands on Lipari with two Mega Yachts

Mark Zuckerberg, the genius behind Facebook and the owner of Meta (the company that controls the social networking services Facebook and Instagram as well as the instant messaging services WhatsApp and Messenger) recently made a stop in Sicily, attracting the attention of tourists and residents with his two extraordinary mega yachts that were spotted in Lipari. After spending time on the Island of Elba and the Gulf of Naples, Zuckerberg decided to land on the beautiful shores of the Aeolian Archipelago.
Mark Zuckerberg's arrival in Lipari aroused great curiosity among tourists and locals. Mark Zuckerberg chose for the occasion one of the most exclusive locations in the Aeolian Islands the beautiful bay of Valle Muria, opposite the striking Petra Minalda and Petru Luongu stacks, in the channel between Lipari and Vulcano. Its two yachts Launchpad and Wingmana symbol of luxury and technology, were admired from the Quattrocchi Belvedere by curious onlookers on the island.
Launchpad: Luxury and Innovation in 118 Metres
The first of the two yachts is ‘Launchpad’, an extraordinary 118-metre-long vessel with every imaginable comfort. This luxury yacht boasts a helipad, a cinema, a beauty salon and even a basketball court. With its 13 cabins and one suite, ‘Launchpad’ can accommodate up to 24 people, plus 48 crew members. The maximum speed it can reach is 20 knots, while the cruising speed is 12 knots, allowing it to cover up to 3,000 nautical miles without a stopover. Zuckerberg bought this magnificent vessel to celebrate his 40th birthday, investing the considerable sum of $300 million.
Wingman: Speed and Comfort in 66 Metres
The second yacht, more compact but equally luxurious, is ‘Wingman’. Built in 2014 by Damen and bought second-hand by entrepreneur Gabe Newell, this 66-metre-long yacht was paid around $30 million. ‘Wingman’ is equipped with a red helicopter, mainly used for Zuckerberg's children's travel and entertainment. The boat can accommodate up to 20 crew members and reach a maximum speed of 25 knots, with a cruising speed of 18 knots and a range of over 3,000 nautical miles.
Mark Zuckerberg's landing on Lipari has once again highlighted the extraordinary beauty of the Aeolian Archipelago. These islands, with their turquoise waters and breathtaking natural landscapes, are a popular destination for tourists and prominent personalities from all over the world.
