gambero rosso vini sicilia 2025
Red wine of Sicily

The 2025 edition of the prestigious Guide Wines of Italy of Gambero Rosso has finally arrived, bringing with it the long-awaited Tre Bicchieri recognition for the best Italian wines. Sicily is confirmed as a protagonist with no less than 28 wines awarded the highest accolade. An achievement that testifies to the continuous qualitative growth of Sicilian wines.

Etna, with its extraordinary combination of volcanic terroir and unique climate, is confirmed as one of the most interesting and productive areas in Sicily. Nine Etna red wines have been awarded Tre Bicchieri, demonstrating the extraordinary potential of this territory. Etna's white wines are also in the limelight, with three labels receiving top recognition.

Once again this year, indigenous grape varieties were central to the experts' choices. Among the undisputed protagonists are Carricante and Catarratto, two white grape varieties. Another indigenous grape variety that continues to reap acclaim is the famous Nero d'Avola, a symbol of Sicilian viticulture. In recent years, several wineries have decided to bet again on this grape variety, focusing on a high quality production that has been able to enhance its peculiar characteristics.

The Sicilian wines awarded Tre Bicchieri this year represent a wide and varied range, crossing different grape varieties, territories and production styles:
