The Guida Michelin 2025 celebrates an extraordinary milestone: the 70th edition of a volume that is an indispensable reference point for food lovers and chefs throughout Italy. This year, the guide confirms its dynamism with the addition of 130 new restaurants, bringing the total number of stars awarded to as many as 393.

Michelin Stars Sicily 2025

Among the featured regions, Sicily stands out; the island is a veritable hotbed of talent and flavor, thanks to an extraordinary variety of raw materials: from fresh fish to wild herbs, from citrus fruits to dried fruits. Sicilian chefs, along with chefs from other regions and countries, reinterpret these ingredients with creativity and passion. Sicily asserts itself in the guide with as many as three Two Star and 20 One Star restaurants:

The city of Taormina, confirms itself as a true capital of taste in Sicily. In the Michelin Guide 2025, in fact, as many as five starred restaurants shine in the “Pearl of the Ionian Sea.” These include the new entry Vineria Modì, run by siblings Dalila and Ettore Grillo.

Michelin Green Stars Sicily 2025

Among the new features of the Michelin Guide 2025 is the growing prominence of Green Stars, an award given to restaurants that stand out for their commitment to sustainability-from the choice of raw materials to the management of the restaurant. One of this year's Green Stars was awarded to Il Cappero, the restaurant at Vulcano's Therasia Resort, which has already held a red Michelin Star for years. Credit for this new achievement goes to the young and talented chef Onofrio Pagnotto, who at just 24 years old has distinguished himself for his sustainable and innovative vision. Il Cappero's Green Star is paired with that of the I Tenerumi restaurant, also located in the Therasia Resort. Led by chef Davide Guidara, this restaurant had already earned a Green Star last year thanks to an entirely vegetarian menu that won the palate and hearts of Michelin inspectors.
