I migliori Oli Extravergine di Oliva della Sicilia nella Guida Slow Food 2025

In 2025, 25 years after the first edition, the Guida agli Extravergini of Slow Food confirms itself as one of the most important tools for the valorisation and promotion of Italy's olive-growing heritage. Edited by Slow Food Italy, with the support of numerous collaborators and companies such as BioEsperia, Gruppo Saida and RICREA, the Guide offers a journey of discovery among the best Italian olive-growing realities. It is an important information tool that tells the story of farms engaged in the production of high quality oils, respecting the territory, local biodiversity and traditions.
Sicily, one of Italy's main olive-growing regions, is distinguished by a thousand-year-old tradition in the production of extra virgin olive oil. Despite difficulties related to the effects of climate change, such as drought and high temperatures, the island has continued to maintain a significant production, albeit not without difficulties. In some areas of Sicily, such as the Catanese (Nocellara dell'Etna area) and Belicino, production drops of more than 80% were recorded. However, the quality of Sicilian oils has remained high, thanks to the constant commitment of olive growers and the application of modern and sustainable agronomic techniques.
The Slow Food Extra Virgin Olive Oil Guide 2025 has awarded numerous prizes to Sicilian oils that have distinguished themselves for quality, sustainability and respect for the land. The main awards are the ‘Chiocciola Slow Food’, the ‘Grande Olio’ and the ‘Grande Olio Slow’.
