Michelin Guide 2023: Michelin Starred Restaurants in Sicily

Sicily in recent times has witnessed an important exploit of young Stars of the kitchen, arriving to boast a growing number of chefs who carry the name of the island, thanks to haute cuisine, quality ingredients and luxury restaurants not to be missed.
The Guida Michelin, the gastronomic column of the French company of the same name, awarded the stars to the best restaurants in Italy in 2023. Sicily boasts 5 new products, as well as several one and two star confirmations, for a total of 20 Michelin starred restaurants:

- La Madia – Licata
- St. George Restaurant by Heinz Beck – Taormina
- Limu – Bagheria
- Mec – Palermo
- Tenerumi – Isole Eolie
- Principe Cerami – Taormina
- I Pupi – Bagheria
- Coria – Caltagirone
- Sapio – Catania
- Il Cappero – Isole Eolie
- Signum – Isole Eolie
- Shalai – Linguaglossa
- Accursio – Modica
- Gagini Restaurant – Palermo
- Locanda Don Serafino – Ragusa
- Riposto Otto Geleng – Taormina
- La Capinera – Taormina
- Il Bavaglino – Terrasini
Among the Sicilian provinces with more awards in first place we find that of Messina with 7 starred restaurants, in front of the province of Palermo with 5 rooms and that of Catania at 4. The provinces of Ragusa with 3 rooms and the province of Agrigento.
In the list stand out the five novelties with the two stars assigned to St. George by Heinz Beck of Taormina and one to Mec Restaurant of Palermo, Prince Cerami of Taormina, Limu of Bagheria and I Tenerumi of Vulcano. The Tenerumi di Vulcano with the Chef Davide Guidara, has also obtained the prestigious green star, an award that rewards the cutting-edge restaurants in the field of sustainability.
