Messina in the Guinness World Records with the World's Largest Arancino

In the picturesque Piazza Duomo in MessinaSicily has again made world record history thanks to the panificio Panyllo. This bakery has made an Arancino giant that set a new world record, arousing the admiration and enthusiasm of all those privileged to witness this incredible feat. With an impressive weight of 56.200 kilos, an extraordinary height of 60 centimetres and a diameter of 55 centimetres, the giant arancino from Messina far surpassed the previous world record of 32.7 kilos set at Catania.
Guinness World Records judge Lorenzo Veltri, the well-known face of the programme “Lo Show dei Record” hosted by Gerry Scotti, certified the absolute record. This certification is a testament to the extraordinary commitment and dedication that went into achieving this feat, which required weeks of planning and a huge organisational effort by the Panyllo team: from choosing the ingredients to perfecting the giant cooking pot and managing the entire process.
"We are happy for us, for Messina, and for the entire rotisserie sector in the city.", said bakery owners Stefano and Davide Ferro. "It is a great thrill to have won the prestigious international title, after weeks of hard work and a great organisational effort. We thank those who supported us."
Satisfaction for this extraordinary result was shared not only by the chefs and staff of the Panyllo bakery, but also by the citizens of Messina and the city's mayor, who paid homage to an icon of Sicilian cuisine, a dish loved by all and an undisputed symbol of the local culinary tradition.
