Michelin Guide 2024: Sicily's Starred Restaurants

Sicily, a land of ancient culinary tradition and excellence, saw three new culinary stars shine during the recent presentation of the Michelin Guide 2024. This prestigious award, given by the renowned French company, confirmed the talent and commitment of Sicilian chefs and restaurateurs, helping to strengthen the island's position on the international culinary scene.

The 'golden triangle' of the Hyblaean region, an area rich in gastronomic traditions and high quality raw materials, was the birthplace of the three new Michelin stars in Sicily, adding to the numerous one- and two-star confirmations, for a total of 23 Michelin-starred restaurants:

- La Madia – Licata
- St. George Restaurant by Heinz Beck – Taormina
- Limu – Bagheria
- Mec – Palermo
- Tenerumi – Isole Eolie
- Principe Cerami – Taormina
- I Pupi – Bagheria

- Signum – Isole Eolie
- Shalai – Linguaglossa

- Gagini Restaurant – Palermo
- Locanda Don Serafino – Ragusa

The list includes three new entries with one star awarded to restaurants Crocifisso di Noto, Cortile Spirito Santo in Siracusa and Votavota of Marina di Ragusa.
The 'Passion Dessert 2024' Prize
A special mention goes to I Tenerumi, led by Davide Guidara, which received the 'Passion Dessert 2024' award. This new award celebrates the high quality of the experience offered through desserts to customers, highlighting the crucial role of pastry in high-class catering. The Vulcano restaurant, already awarded a Michelin Star and a Michelin Green Star, continues to distinguish itself for its creativity and mastery in the preparation of desserts, further enriching the Sicilian gastronomic scene.
New Bib Gourmands in Sicily
The Michelin Guide 2024 also awarded three Sicilian restaurants with the Bib Gourmand, the cute pictogram of the Michelin man licking his moustache. This award is reserved for establishments that offer a pleasant gastronomic experience with excellent value for money. Osteria Acqualavica in Catania, Salotto sul Mare in Terrasini and La Locanda del Colonnello in Modica have been praised for their ability to offer comprehensive menus that satisfy the most refined palates without compromising on convenience.
