Gambero Rosso rewards with the "3 Cones" the best Gelaterie in Sicily

During the Sigep event in Rimini, Gambero Rosso presented the 2024 edition of its prestigious Ice Cream Guide of Italycelebrating the excellence of Italian artisan gelato. A total of 70 ice-cream parlours in Italy have been awarded the prestigious 'Three Cones', but over 550 have been mentioned with 'Two' and 'One Cone'. The Sicilian ice-cream scene confirmed its high level with three ice-cream parlours receiving the 'Three Cones':
- La Gelateria di Antonio Cappadonia, Palermo
- Sikè Gelato, Milazzo
- Gelateria Santo Musumeci, Randazzo
1. Gelateria Antonio Cappadonia: for the sixth year running, Antonio Cappadonia's ice-cream parlour in Palermo, with outlets in Piazzetta Bagnasco and Corso Vittorio Emanuele 401, is reconfirmed as one of the excellences. The master ice-cream maker's philosophy is based on the use of selected raw materials and respect for their seasonality. His ice creams, created with ingredients such as the lemon of Cerda and the late mandarin of Ciaculli, enhance the Sicilian gastronomic heritage.
2. Siké Gelato: in Milazzo, Siké Gelato, managed by Rosario Leone D'Angelo and Elisa Chillemi, continues to make a difference with an approach that focuses on continuous research and sustainability. Attention to raw materials and their environmental impact allows Siké Gelato to offer a product that is not only delicious, but also environmentally friendly.
3. Gelateria Santo Musumeci: in Randazzo, Santo Musumeci's Pasticceria Gelateria, now run by Giovanna Musumeci, is the new entry among the 'Three Cones' award winners. After the death of Maestro Santo, Giovanna has been able to carry on her father's legacy with a refined gourmet proposal and a focus on quality and innovation.
Special prizes include the ice-cream parlour L’Artigianale a Pozzallo, Ragusa for the enhancement of territorial productions, thanks to its creation with the Melannurca Campana Igp, known as the 'queen of apples'. This apple variety is distinguished by its crunchy and compact flesh, its acidulous and juicy flavour and a unique aroma that conquers every palate.
