Gambero Rosso awards '3 Spicchi' to the best Pizzerias in Sicily

Pizza, one of the most iconic and beloved dishes of Italian cuisine, continues to conquer the palates of people all over the world, with an ongoing quest for unique flavours and refined tastes. In recent years, Italian pizzerias have distinguished themselves through attention to detail, the use of high quality ingredients and the continuous search for unique flavours. This evolution has been celebrated in the Guida Pizzerie d’Italia 2024 of Gambero Rosso which rewarded Italy's best pizzerias with the prestigious 'Tre Spicchi' award for pizzerias al piatto and 'Tre Rotelle' for pizzerias al taglio.
Sicily, which has always been famous for its cuisine rich in tradition and flavour, has distinguished itself in the preparation of this much-loved food, with no less than seven pizzerias on the island receiving the 'Tre Spicchi' award:
- Archestrato di Gela, Palermo
- Da Clara, Venetico
- L’Orso, Messina
- La Braciera, Palermo
- Piano B, Siracusa
- Verace Elettrica, Milazzo
- Saccharum, Altavilla Milicia
As for take-away pizza, a Sicilian pizzeria has been awarded the prestigious 'Three Wheels':
- L’Orso in Teglia, Messina
In addition to the 'Tre Spicchi' and 'Tre Rotelle' awards, Gambero Rosso honoured the Sicilian pizzeria That’s Amore di Raffadali con il “Premio Speciale Petra Molino Quaglia Ricerca e Innovazione“. Sempre in provincia di Agrigento the 'Special Levoni Pizza and Territory Prize - The best interpretations of local traditions' was awarded, won by the pizzeria Sitari.
The passion for pizza continues to flourish in Italy, and Sicily stands out as one of the most dynamic and innovative regions in this sector with Sicilian pizza makers once again proving to be true artists in the creation of this Italian delicacy loved the world over.
